Ever heard any of these before?
“They’re just temps; just keep them busy.”
“Bring in the temp, my coffee’s cold.”
“Ooh yeeahh—Ryan the temp!”
Ok, we don’t condone employees throwing eggs at our client’s facilities, and we don’t condone referring to our employees as “temps” either. The word has received negative connotations for reasons outside of our control or interest; therefore, at TMP, we choose to refer to every hard-working and dedicated employee as just that: employees!
We’re always impressed with the level of skill and professionalism our employees bring to our clients, and we’re proud to have meaningful professional relationships with them. It’s a joy to witness talented people finding their stride and success despite the challenges of life that seem to be in perpetual supply.
So, despite the fact that we never use “that word”, we thought it would be fun to reclaim it and form it into an acronym!
T is for Talented
Our employees exude natural talents and abilities, and it’s our job at Talent Management Professionals to coax out and nurture those talents.
E is for Enduring
Although we work very closely with our employees throughout the hiring process to ensure that they are matched with a position that utilizes their natural abilities, sometimes those positions don’t end up being the best fit. That’s ok; we’ve all been there at least once. What we admire about our employees is their willingness to endure until the end—and their trust and patience in us to start looking for something better once an assignment ends.
M is for Mindful
We know that not every client needs a highly skilled professional for certain positions. But we also know that all of our clients expect mindful employees that take precautions and care about their work—no matter how big or small the job. We appreciate this “invisible” quality in our employees, as it often makes all the difference in any interaction an employee might face on an assignment.
P is for Proud
As we mentioned previously, our employees exhibit high levels of pride in what they do—no matter how big or small the job. That’s what makes us the most proud!
The next time you interact with a contingent employee, remember just what “temp” stands for: talented, enduring, mindful, and excessively proud individuals who deserve our respect and praise!
